Four-armed Tibetan Chenrezig form of Avalokite?vara Four-armed Tibetan Chenrezig form of Avalokite?vara, Also called Buddha of Great Compassion, or the Lord of Six syllables, she is associated to the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM. The Dalai Lama is considered by the Gelugpa sect and many other Tibetan Buddhists to be the primary earthly manifestation of Chenrezig. According to Mahayana doctrine, Avalokite?vara is the bodhisattva who has made a great vow to listen to the prayers of all sentient beings in times of difficulty, and to postpone his own Buddhahood until he has assisted every being on Earth in achieving nirvana. Associated Japanese Gods, KANNON BOSATSU, KANNON BODHISATTVA or KANZEON/ has a different seed syllable. (Need to check more on this)

" However hrih, like Amitabha, also involves, according to Govinda solar symbolism. He links this with what he calls the emotional principle of goodness, compassion and sympathy, as well as with the illuminating aspects of the sun: light, making things visible, the faculty of perception, of direct vision. In a flight of poetic imagination, and forgetting that he has omitted the visarga, he describes hrih as "a mantric solar symbol, a luminous, elevating, upwards moving sound composed of the pranic aspirate [ie the visarga], the fiery R... " and the high vowel which he says "expresses upwards-movement, intensity", etc.[3] "
