This book is simply Genius in the way it has been put together.�They really managed to make it interesting to anyone! Especially for people who love to look at amazing pictures!

Initially we bought it for our research as KingYos are often depicted in Traditional Japanese Tattoos. (Apparently, it brings you luck and money), I can somehow witness this as after having my two king yo’s tattoos, I got lucky enough to be admitted as an artist in Japan under a cultural activities visa! Luck? Anyway, It is so great I offered this book to the Japanese Tattoo artist who tattoos me! And I can tell you! This was a sign of respect for me! You can only get inspired by this book! It is very hard to find good quality photographs of KingYos!

Actually quite a few western tattoo artist still sometimes confuse them with KOI!!! Watch out don’t get a huge king Yo tattooed on your back !!! �Thinking its a koi !!! We love King Yo’s!! But when I have seen it! A huge king yo as a back piece God it was funny!

Anyway! Back to the topic! This book is great! When I mention ‘genius’, it is the way they managed to put Traditional Japanese Art with contemporary design. This book is so well designed. A real pleasure to hold in your hands. What is really great as an artist, is that it will inspire you from a stylistic point of view. As you get a lot of references from the EDO period (No Tattoos, but that is also refreshing!) and also applied to various artistic form and crafts! SO �you get quite a good range of styles!

Now, if you decide to draw your own kingyos! That is the perfect book you need! The quality of the Macros are simply amazing, Photographs of amazing King Yos on white background! Mind blowing! Amazing creatures! They’re actually so small and so cute in real life! If you see one moving! I simply love them. Such a little creature and so much character, colour and delicacy. It won’t take long before I actually set a pond outside with a few king yo’s. Personally I love the blue ones. Same shape as the one below.

If you’re not sold by now! you must hate fish, we wish we could bring you more pages of the traditional prints etc that are also in that book. The few pages below should be enough to demonstrate the quality of this book! You also get family trees of King Yo generations! So you cans see their evolutions! And some text beautifully composed, all in Japanese!

A great Book! Maybe that’s the only reference book you’ll ever need to draw king Yos, ever!
